OCR is useful—and fallible
The generated voice can only read the characters the camera and OCR recognised.
- Curved pages, shadows, glare, blur, small type and marginal notes reduce recognition accuracy.
- Multi-column pages, tables, equations and captions may be placed in the wrong reading order.
- Verify names, numbers, quotations, medication, legal and safety-critical information against the page.
- Scanning a page does not grant permission to share or redistribute the book or generated audio.
